Japanese Hardware: 360 Lead Narrows Over PS3
(via Gamasutra) - The Xbox 360 is still outselling the PlayStation 3 in Japan, but its lead has narrowed further to just over 1,000 units. Although software sales were relatively healthy, this week has seen some of the lowest overall hardware sales this year. As both PSP and Nintendo DS await recently-announced hardware upgrades the DS was the best selling format of the week with just 42,385 units -- down almost 15,500 on the previous seven days.

TGS: Analysis - The State Of Sony, Microsoft... Nintendo?
(via Gamasutra) - Looking over the 2008 Tokyo Game Show, one of the main factors an interested onlooker might consider is how the console manufacturers are handling the show. Both Microsoft and Sony, currently dueling for position in the worldwide market, sought a strong showing at TGS. Sony needed to convince consumers that its recent loss to the Xbox 360 in the monthly Japanese sales charts was just a one-off.

Microsoft To Offer Xbox 360 Holiday Bundles With Free Games
(via Gamasutra) - Microsoft intends to offer Xbox 360 holiday bundles with free games again this year. According to a report from game weblog Talk Xbox, the bundles are already shipping to retailers, and several have already been spotted on store shelves. The HDMI-equipped 120GB Xbox 360 Elite models will come packed with copies of LEGO Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda, but will remain priced at $399.
