Patapon 2 Helps You Keep Your Groove Tokyo Game Show 2008 (via Kotaku) - In Patapon you controlled an assortment of highly stylized characters by tapping out music on the four face buttons of the Playstation Portable. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Screens Appear Out Of *Nowhere* Tokyo Game Show 2008 (via Kotaku) - Naruto? Not really our "thing." Chalk it up to ignorance, the daunting back story and the unwillingness to do the work involved to become interested. But the games tend to look spectacular, with Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm for the PlayStation 3 no exception. We can only imagine how intensely 10-year old version of us would have been blown away by seeing a cartoon so accurately portrayed in video game form. Discuss (0) | Login to recommend | 3 months ago

Afro Samurai's Cutting Screens Afro Samurai (via Kotaku) - Live action samurai versus ninja fights aside, the Afro Samurai presentation at yesterday's Namco Bandai presser was surprisingly brief. They showed a trailer which featured Afro cutting lots of people in half, both horizontally AND vertically. It didn't demonstrate, however, how effective the game play mechanic will be in emphasizing what the developers call the game's "elegant violence", a style of fighting that is meant to balance acrobatic platforming with stylistic slicing and dicing. Namco Bandai Pre-TGS Press Conference: The Choicest Quotes Tokyo Game Show 2008 (via Kotaku) - Sometimes, things read better on paper than they do said out loud. That's especially true when the script your emcee is working with sounds like it had been written by the "funniest" top-level Namco Bandai executive, the one who's always quick with the puns. Josh Keller, who performed his duties admirably and annunciated with panache, delivered a few duds in between presentations. Discuss (0) | Login to recommend | 3 months ago

No Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World for You, PS2 Namco Bandai (via Kotaku) - Namco's Tales team is churning out Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. It's a Wii exclusive, and Namco Bandai producer Teruaki Konishi told us that the game wasn't designed to be multi-plat. In fact, since Namco didn't design the game's memory to fit for the PlayStation 2, a possible (and seemingly profitable) PS2 port is thus ruled out Namco Bandai stated.
